A good art mag.

I'd like to start my blog off with a recommendation for a great art magazine. The magazine in question is Juxtapoz. If any of you haven't had the privilege to look through this mag I strongly encourage you to go out and find one if you are a fan of art. This magazine was founded by a man who work with Ed Roth a.k.a rat fink. Robert Williams, the founder of Juxtapoz, is an artist that illustrated for Ed Roth. He created a lot of hot rod, sci fi type of paintings and coined the term "lowbrow art". This "lowbrow art" is the focus of Juxtapoz. The lowbrow scene is kind of like an underground style of art that doesn't fit into what most people would consider fine art but follows those lines very closely in the manner of how much effort is put into the work. The artists that are featured in Juxtapoz create paintings that reflect pop culture. They also create art that reflects their emotions and the way they interpret life. Juxtapoz features artists from all over the world. They even had an issue dedicated to African artists within the last six months. They cover photography, traditional painting, digital art, graffiti, graphic design and all kinds of mixed media art forms. This really is a good magazine just for the art alone but it has good articles and good editorial work as well.

I'm new to this

This is my first blog and I will try to cover some interesting things that I come across. I hope to talk about new video games, movies, bands, artists, people and other hip things I discover. I will also be displaying some of my own pictures and drawings and maybe some paintings. This blog will be my attempt to try and bring some culture into other peoples lives.
